5 Stars Stock Market Gizmo is Great!
A quick glance at this little marvel and you have an indication of how the DJIA ,i.e. the stock market, is “doing” - all without firing up your laptop or desktop computer and getting attached to the internet. It also offers a glance at how your own personal portfolio is doing but they are still refining it to give better results. That feature is not free but at $20 a quarter it very reasonable. Keep it on your desk at work or keep it on your “beverage” bar at the beach. The DOW JONES Updates every 15 minutes on a delay and it is somehow FREE, so you will not get a bill for that…ever! When is the last time you got something that gave you stock market news for free? Get one if you own a retirement account. It will let you feel better knowing how the market is doing each day…without waiting for the 6 o’clock news.
4 Stars NOT GREAT..But NOT BAD either
Ive had this unit for about 2 months now.. sometimes its a little quirky. but for the most part it gives me a good average as to what the market is doing during the day. and when i get home at night. a quick glance will tell me right away whether i had a “GOOD” day in the Market, or a “Bad” one.. its nice not to have to log onto a web site to see how the market is doing. Just wished it “updated” more often than every 15 minutes.. alot happens in todays markets in 15 minutes. but hey.. its only 85 bucks!.. you cant go wrong,
1 Star Hank, did you ever find out the problem?
I’m about ready to place an order but obviously this would be a deal breaker.
1 Star No signal
I have been using this product for several weeks, now. But, I stopped getting updates from the service provider last Friday (which happened to be a big day for Wall Street — DJIA down 256 points). It has been 72 hours now, and I have not received a single update (they are suppose to come every 15 minutes). My device is displaying a message that says to wait at least an hour for the first update, but it’s been 3 days. And, now we are into Monday’s trading session and still no updates. The screen remains blank.
By the way, the battery indicator says the batteries are full. And, the signal strength indicator says there has been no change in the strength of the signal. And, my wireless Weather Station (which also uses the Microsoft FM-Radio station network) is working just fine.
So, I assume that the company that provides these stock market updates to the Microsoft network has gone out of business.
In short, this product is no longer of value.
5 Stars Small but mighty
First a disclaimer. I don’t play the stock market. I bought this for a relative who does. I’m nice like that.
But she claims to love it. It’s attractive and handy. Check the demensions, this gadget is smaller than I expected. Personally, I’m not quite seeing the value when you can check stocks online or on the television but, again, I don’t own stocks.
So unless she is lying to me, she says it is useful and fun. Thumbs up!
